At the request of various primary schools, a PET Event was still organized in Den Helder this school year. The Promotional Technology Event (PET) is a wonderful opportunity to bring children from 10 to 12 years into contact with technology in the broadest sense. And Variopool is there.
Generating interest in technology during PET-Event
Technology is all around us and technological developments mean that your pupils will be increasingly familiar with it in the future. We take youngsters into the seven worlds of technique and let them experience how much fun it is. Pupils are welcomed in BrickPark. Here, over 30 technical companies present themselves with Lego which is related to their work. Think of building a house with contractor Borst, building a swimming pool for Variopool, designing a bathroom at Wilms, transporting a windmill for Engie and steering a submarine at the Royal Dutch Navy. There will also be activities such as welding in VR, learning about agricultural technology through games, driving combat robots and building bridges.
Variopool is also taking part in this tech@connect event in Den Helder. At the stand, young people are given the assignment to think of something they would like to rebuild in a swimming pool, or to design something entirely new. The designs are collected afterwards and a winner is chosen. Perhaps we can find an engineer here for the future…
